About the Event

October 15th is International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day.

The Bloss Remembrance Walk is held in mid-October to coincide with this important day, and is aimed at acknowledging and remembering babies who have passed away, but continue to be dearly loved and missed.

As part of the day, a service is held, and people have the opportunity to walk around the lagoon, and release a flower into the water in honour of the baby or babies they are remembering.

There are market stalls, information stalls from local services supporting bereaved families, food, live music, kids activities and more.

Why it’s important: This is the largest support event run by Bloss each year, and families and friends are all invited to come along. It is a special day for everyone in the baby loss community to come together, and is always filled with so much love & connection.

Funds raised on Red Nose Day over the past three decades have led to an impressive 85% decrease in sudden infant deaths, saving 11,357 babies so far.

This progress was made possible through global support and research efforts, resulting in six actionable steps for parents to reduce the risk of infant sleep-related deaths. However, the fight continues as over 3,000 babies still die unexpectedly each year in Australia, leaving families devastated.

About the Event

Red Nose Day “Rural Style” is held on Red Nose Day, and is currently held in mid August in Australia.

Red Nose Day Rural Style was established more than 10 years ago (2010) by the Ganmain Children’s Expo group. This group consisted of mothers with babies who were seeking support services in the local area. The event has been held in Ganmain, NSW, biannually for over a decade. In 2018, Bloss attended the event as local support service in the area. In 2020, the Ganmain Children’s Expo invited Bloss to partner in the 2021 event and eventually take over future operations.

Emergency services also come along to this event to showcase their vehicles and equipment to families and join in the fun.

You can follow Red Nose Day Rural Style on Instagram and Facebook.

The aim of the event is to showcase local health, support, and community services for families with children aged 0-5 years in an expo-style setting. Participants include children aged 0-5 years, their caregivers, service providers, health professionals, community groups, and entertainment providers. The event features quality market stalls, a free BBQ lunch, and children’s activities like Story-time, characters, and an animal farm.

Bloss is continuously seeking partnerships with towns and communities in the Riverina region to host similar events in your area. If your community or organisation has events that could benefit from partnering with Bloss, we would love to hear from you.

About the Event

Mothers Day is a special occasion where bereaved mothers are invited to join us at a specially organised event in a stunning venue sponsored by Bloss.

We encourage women to bring along a support person, someone who has stood by them throughout their grief journey, to share this day of gratitude and appreciation.

This event is held on bereaved Mothers Day, the Sunday before Mothers Day, in a beautiful local setting such as the Botanical Gardens or Cotton Tails Winery. It is our heartfelt belief in the significance of acknowledging this day and providing a space for women to honour their baby, themselves, and the women who have supported them. To alleviate any financial burden, we cover the costs of this event each year.

The day is filled with a delightful luncheon or high tea, exciting raffle prizes, insightful guest speakers, and a poignant candle lighting ceremony to remember and cherish the memory of your baby. Coming together in a supportive environment with other women who understand the depth of this shared pain can be a profoundly healing experience, fostering a sense of community and belonging that is invaluable on the path to healing.

“I find this day very moving and powerful every year and the happiness in my heart, that all bereaved mothers go away feeling not so isolated and like they have taken the time to honour their baby who now lives in their heart. I know this gives me some comfort and peace. I enjoy meeting other women and sharing our stories and feeling supported and heard”
